METAMORPHOSIS

Original Air date:
November 10th, 1967

Guest Starring:
Elinor Donahue, Glenn Corbett and Elizabeth Rogers

THE STORY:

While escorting a critically Ambassador named Nancy Hedford the shuttle craft Galileo was spacejacked by a strange energy being and taken to a remote and planet where no human is suppose to be. Not just any human, Zefram Cochrane. The inventor of the warp drive, who disappeared and believed dead over a century ago.

Zefram tells him how he was eighty years old and dying when he crash landed on this planet and was saved by the energy being known only as the Companion. But as interesting as this is Kirk has a life to save and will do anything to get away from the company, even if it means uncovering the mystery of why she wants Zefram to live to badly.

THE OPINION:

It is kind of romantic, young love between an aging warp drive inventor an a female energy being. There are some twists and turns in this one which I won't give way. But it's interesting, if not slow.
